Elect Kearney, Boto and Foley for Council
Our Platform to Build a Better Garwood Together
Affordability
- Continue cost cutting efforts through the use of additional Shared Service Agreements when they make sense for Garwood.
- Identify alternative revenue sources and implement annual reviews of fee and permit costs to ensure they are in line with neighboring towns.
- Continue advocacy for full return of yearly Energy Tax revenue from the State government to Garwood to help keep property taxes in check.
Safety
- Ensure proper funding and staffing levels for Police & Fire Departments.
- Continue advocacy with the State Legislature for adjustments to Bail Reform.
- Increase communication via Nixle and social media about enhanced Police enforcement efforts.
Infrastructure
- Revitalize the Center Street underpass, including planning for future relocation of the water pump system to higher ground.
- Create a block ambassador program for coordination with our Public Works Department to more quickly address road repairs and drainage issues.
- Lobby with key state and federal legislative partners to increase funding for NJ Transit accessibility and platform improvements.
Community
- Invigorate Local Business with the formation of a Small Business Association, focusing on walkability of Center Street and North / South Avenue corridors.
- Promote healthy living by working with businesses and employers to provide increased community connections, such as “no scroll zones” in public places.
- Engage with the community to educate and advocate for Garwood families about mental health and wellness resources.
Professionalism
- Make sure our Small Town With A Big Heart also has a Big Voice with the County and the State, in terms of reclaiming our tax dollars, to be used for more paving, modernization of infrastructure, and flood control.
- Represent Garwood with dignity and respect, ensuring our residents and town are professionally represented and advocated for at the County, State, and Federal levels.
